"I 'EXPECTED'!"

I 'expected' great things from God
& saw 'tragedy' all around,
I didn't understand at all
& my Love for God was NOT very sound. *
I wavered back & forth
until finally I gave up,
Surrendered all I had & was
& asked Christ to cleanse my cup.
To cleanse me on the 'inside'
& fill me with 'Himself' alone,
And I asked Him to allow me
to sit down near His Throne. *
For I needed so desperately to KNOW Him
& how He thought & felt,
Then & only then *
would this cold heart of mine ~ melt!
I needed to 'see' through Jesus' Eyes
so Peace & Joy could come, *
Then I could know His 'weeping' Heart
& 'go to the World' & win some. *
So now my expectations
are 'different', don't you see,
For now I'm focused on JESUS
& living 'thankfully'!
I 'expect' His Will
& not my own ~ to do,
So when tragedies I see
I know He'll help me through.
He'd help 'others' all around
if they'd only seek His Face,
'Expect' He'll Love them always
as they live within His 'Grace'! *
